Growing Pine - And Closure of this Blog.

When I was in Athens in April 2009, I picked up a unopened pine cone from a tree on the Acropolis Plateau. After a couple of weeks in the window, the cone opened and the seeds fell out. Optimistically I planted 3 seeds, but nothing happend for two month despite daily attention and nursing.
I has basically given up, and went on a week vacation. I was very surprised to come home and discover that all three seeds had become these 5 cm. tall "trees".

Also this photo marks the closing of my postings on this blog. I will relocate to another part of the world. I will most likely take up photoblogging again - but probably in another format.

Hippy's cafe/lounge directly on Potami Beach is an excellent place to chill out during the hot days of Greek summer. They serve great drinks and have one of the better kitchens in the area.
